The Annual Henrietta Lacks Legacy Group Luncheon is scheduled for Saturday, October 2, 2021, from 12: 00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. It will be a virtual event and free. Participants must register to secure the link to the event. Register at : https://forms.gle/q6B4gqX6PcG3trFF6
The HLLG Annual Luncheon raises funds for the creation of a wax figure of Henrietta Lacks and the Henrietta Lacks Scholarship Endowment at the Community College of Baltimore County. It also offers a venue to share insights on Mrs. Lacks and to honor Turner Station residents, former residents, and friends for contributions made to the legacy of Henrietta Lacks or that of historic Turner Station. Mrs. Lacks, by all accounts, is a figure whose reach is global. Extending the legacy of this very important African American woman does much to combat historical erasure that befalls so many of our important historical figures.
This year, HLLG is proud to honor the following people and organizations:
Ms. Aiyana Rodgers
Additionally, Ms. Aiyana Rodgers, great granddaughter of Mrs. Lacks, will provide the keynote address. Save the date.
