In keeping with the mission of HLLG, the Tourism Committee organizes tours and presentations that educate the public of the remarkable history of Turner Station. Each year people come from all over the U.S. and abroad to learn about Henrietta Lacks and her life in Turner Station. HLLG also sponsors cruises to the Caribbean as a fundraiser each year.
Each fall HLLG conducts a lecture and tour of Turner Station for the Foundation of Excellence course attended by Johns Hopkins Resident Physicians serving The Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. The idea is that doctors should know something about the community of people they are serving.
