Servant Courtney Speed urged Baltimore County Council members to vote in favor of the
Revitalization of Sparrows Point on December 11. She explained, “There was a time when
moving to Sparrows Point or Turner Station meant the promise of opportunity.  Henrietta Lacks
and her husband David “Day” sought that promise when they moved to Turner Station in 1941,
where David would work at the booming Bethlehem Steel Mill.”
